Waterford Township is seeking a Zoning Officer/Administrator.  Duties include administering the Township’s ordinances, Storm Water Management and Flood Plain regulations as well as other duties assigned by the Board of Supervisors.  Must have valid driver’s license. Pay based on experience.

The successful candidate should have experience in zoning administration, planning, and government or public administration.  Strong customer service, public outreach and relationship-building skills are also necessary. Shall be responsible for the review and issuance of all zoning permits and zoning violations. Assist and prepare meetings for the Planning Commission and the Zoning Hearing Board. Research, and prepare updates to the zoning ordinances and map. A working knowledge of land development process. Essential Duties: Document findings, prepare reports and maintain records. Respond to complaints from municipal officials, and residents, regarding municipal codes and/or ordinances. Receive and process applications for Variances, CUPS and other zoning related information. Attending municipal meetings and Zoning Hearing Board meetings. Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with acceptable driving record for the past three years. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to make tough decisions. Ability to work with people, particularly the ability to deliver bad news to difficult people in a non-agitating manner. Strong emphasis is placed on the ability to effectively communicate technical information, orally and in writing, in a professional manner to contractors, developers, property owners, employees, consultants, other governmental agency representatives, municipal officials and the general public. Skill is required with reading and interpreting plot plans, drawings, specifications and documents.
